  2. Provide a name for the image gallery and save the page. The new page will be visible within the content tree to the left.

Adding Pictures To An Image Gallery

Pictures within image galleries must be uploaded as a child page to the image gallery. In essence, any child page of the image gallery will be included in the gallery.

Creating a New File under the Image Gallery

Allows content editors to upload an individual file under the image gallery page. While this is easy and straightforward for one image, it does not allow for a bulk upload.
  1. Create a new File Page Type. This can be accomplished by right clicking the image gallery page and selecting new, or using the new (+) icon on the top left side of the content tree. This will take the user to the New File page.
  2. Select UPLOAD FILE to browse the local device for an image to upload.
  3. Once the file is chosen select SAVE.

It is important to note that any file uploaded to a page will inherit the permissions of that page. For more information on permissions, please see Page Security/Visibility.

How To Create A List of Galleries

List of Galleries is a page that hosts a number of image galleries. This page can be useful to host image galleries for various events. A List of Galleries page can contain any number of child Image Galleries, which will contain any number of child Files (images).

Use a List of Galleries to group the image galleries of the past years' events. A List of Galleries can be created for each year and within them any number of Image Galleries.

  1. Create a new page using a List of Galleries gallery template. This template can be found within the Images folder.
  2. Provide a name for the new page and select Save. The new page will be visible within the content tree to the left.
  3. Follow the instructions above to create a new image gallery as a child of the List of Galleries Page. Previously created image galleries can be dragged within the content tree under the List of Galleries. This will also move the child Files under the image gallery.

Setting a Gallery Teaser Image and Description

List of Galleries will display a teaser image and description of each image gallery. Users will need to specify the teaser and description to show correctly within the list:

  1. Upload Teaser Image: the image that will be displayed on the List of Galleries page to identify the gallery. Edit the image gallery and select the Form tab to the left of page properties.

  2. Under the section Teaser Image select a file from the local device.

To edit the description of the image gallery, navigate to Properties > Metadata. Under the section Page Description enter the text that will show within the List of Galleries page. Notice Page Description field is greyed out - to enter a description, uncheck Inherit and enter the description of the gallery. Ensure to click SAVE when finished.
