Automatic Push Notifications allow clubs to automatically send targeted messages to members based on their specific characteristics and/or geofence crossings, on a scheduled basis. To receive these notifications, members must be logged into the app and have push notifications enabled for the app on their mobile device; however, the app does not need to be actively open at the time the notification is delivered. This feature is available exclusively to clubs using Club House Online.

Creating Campaigns

  • To create a campaign, navigate to Club Central and locate the CHO Premium App application.
  • From the left-hand menu, select the Campaign tab.
  • By default, this section displays a table with all existing campaigns created by the club.
  • To initiate a new campaign, select the Create button.

Section One: Configuring the Campaign Info

  • This section allows entry of a Name and Description for the campaign. These fields are used for internal identification only and are not visible to notification recipients.

Section Two: Configuring the Content for the Push Notification

  • This section allows defining the notification content by specifying a Title and Message. An optional URL and Image can also be included to enhance the message.
  • When adding a URL redirection, if the redirected URL requires third-party login, select the "Require Authentication" checkbox

Section Three: Selecting the Recipients for the Push Notification

  • This section is used to define the conditions under which a push notification is sent to members. Two types of criteria are available:
  1. Member Infor Criteria: Based on attributes such as membership status, type, or member name.
  2. Geolocation Criteria: Based on geofence activity, such as entering or exiting a location.

Geolocation criteria are only available if geolocation functionality has been enabled for the club.

3.1 Configuring a Criterion

To configure a criterion:
  • Select the required criterion type by using the dropdown menu in the left panel.
  • After selecting a criterion type, configure the relevant sub-criteria and their fields displayed on the right side.
  • Once all required fields are checked, click the Apply button to apply the criterion.
To change or delete a criterion:
  • While a specific sub-criterion is being configured, all other sub-criteria are temporarily disabled.
  • The Clear button removes all values entered for the current criterion and must be used before selecting a different criterion.
  • The Cancel button removes a criterion; however, at least one criterion must remain configured at all times.

3.2 Configuring Multiple Criteria:

  • Each criterion component supports only one sub-criterion at a time.
  • Use the Add Criteria button to include additional criteria. Each criterion can be renamed using the Edit (pencil) icon.
Example: To send a push notification based on member status:
  • Select the Member Info criterion type, then choose the Member Status sub-criterion and select the desired statuses.
To send notifications based on both member status and member type, multiple criteria must be created.

3.2 Managing Multiple Criterias: Criteria Logic

  • Criteria logic defines the behavior of how notifications are triggered when multiple criteria are configured.

3.2.1 Basic Logic (Default)

  • Using the Basic Logic the AND Logic is applied.
  • By default, when multiple criteria are configured, the Basic logic / AND logic is applied — meaning all defined conditions must be true for the notification to be sent.

Example: To send a notification when Member Status = Active and Membership Type = No Dues, create two criteria:

  1. One for Member Status = Active
  2. One for Membership Type = No Dues

With Basic logic applied by default, the notification is sent only if both conditions are met.

3.2.2 Advanced Logic

  • Advanced Logic allows the use of both AND and OR conditions when configuring criteria.
  • It can be used for simple OR logic, as well as for more complex combinations.
  • To handle advanced scenarios that involve both AND and OR conditions, select the Add Advanced Criteria Logic option.

Example: To send a notification when (Member Status = Active AND Membership Type = No Dues) OR Membership Type = Honorary Member, create three criteria:

  1. Member Status = Active
  2. Membership Type = No Dues
  3. Membership Type = Honorary Member

Use logic: (1 AND 2) OR 3. The notification will be sent to members who are either Active with No Dues, or have the Honorary Member type.

Section Four: Trigger Frequency

  • This section defines how often and for how long the club wants to send the push notification.
Campaign Effective Period
Specifies the date range during which the campaign will be active. Push notifications will only be sent within this period.

Frequency Options
Determines how frequently push notifications are triggered when the set conditions are met:

  1. Every Time: Sends a push notification each time the conditions are fulfilled. Available for all criteria types except: Member Info only (e.g., without Geolocation),Geolocation – Geolocation History – Has not been to the club, Geolocation – Geolocation History – Date Range
  2. Once: Sends a push notification only once during the entire campaign period, when the criteria or condition is met. Available for all criteria types.
  3. Daily: Sends a push notification once per day (maximum), if the conditions are met. Available for all criteria types except: Geolocation – Geolocation History – Has not been to the club, Geolocation – Geolocation History – Date Range
